Well this is also about narrative. I work on my painting, learning the technique of the artist I am copying here, then feel the need to add to the story, to bring in people from my daily life and put them into the painting, visiting it with interest, showing the timelessness of the original work. Imagine how great it would be to actually walk through Bruegel’s countryside!
